Effects of Tillage Depth and Tractor Speed on Implement Speed for Three Tillage Implements on a Clay Loam Soil

نویسندگان

چکیده

The utilization of agricultural machinery represents the main aspect contributing to total energy input in system. trials were achieved using five tractor speeds(3.6, 5.4, 7.2, 9.0 and 10.8 km/hr) tillage depths(10, 15, 20, 25 30 cm) determine implement speed at different depths for 3-bottom disc plough, spring tine cultivator offset harrow on a clay loam soil. design experiment used two factors, levels factorial Central Composite Rotatable Design Response Surface Method. ranged from 0.78 1.95, 0.67 2.19 0.70 2.11 m/s, respectively. effects speeds three implements assessed. results indicated that increasing depth decreased all tested but increased speed. had more pronounced effect than depth. This study therefore recommends availability time width should be determining required finish work time.

Draft Force Inputs for Primary and Secondary Tillage Implements in a Clay Loam Soil

Tillage is the base operation in agriculture and its energy represents a considerable portion of the energy utilized in crop production. To measure the implement force requirements, are used dynamometers that are pull or three-point hitch types. In this research, an 82 kW research tractor equipped with an instrumentation system was used to determine the draft force inputs for four common tillag...

Effect of tillage treatments on soil thermal conductivity for some Jordanian clay loam and loam soils

Soil thermal conductivity determines how a soil warms or cools with exchange of energy by conduction, convection, and radiation. The ability to monitor soil thermal conductivity is an important tool in managing the soil temperature regime to affect seed germination and crop growth. In this study, the temperature-by-time data was obtained using a single probe device to determine the soil thermal...

Interactions of tillage and soil depth on ̄uometuron degradation in a Dundee silt loam soil

Fluometuron (N,N-dimethyl-N0-[3-(tri ̄uoromethyl)phenyl]urea) is the most widely used soil applied herbicide in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) production in the Southeastern United States. Thus, there is a need to understand the persistence of this herbicide under various crop management systems in regards to both herbicide ef®ciency and environmental fate. The effects of long-term no-tillage pract...

Tillage impacts on aggregate stability and crop productivity in a clay-loam soil in central Iran

To take advantage of conservation tillage systems (including direct drilling and non-inversion) in central Iran, it is important to study the effects of different cultivation practices on soil structural stability as a physical indicator. A four-year study was conducted to investigate the effects of seven tillage systems on aggregate properties of a clay-loam soil (Calcic Cambisol) with continu...
